"Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, the company initially centered on a simple concept: offering moving equipment for one-way, nationwide use. U-Box provides moving containers that the company will store or deliver globally, featuring no fuel costs and available loading and delivery services. In addition to providing customers with Manassas, VA moving services, U-Haul also offers a variety of other services, including self-storage, moving supplies, trailer hitches, propane, and moving labor. U-Haul is based in Phoenix, Arizona, and its service areas span the U.S. and Canada.
